What the calculator assumes
The model assumes 410-watt solar panels, approximately 14% combined system losses, 0.5% annual panel degradation, and 3.1% annual utility-rate escalation for its long-term planning model.
These are modeling assumptions rather than guarantees. Actual production depends on your roof, panel orientation, tilt, shading, weather, equipment, system design, and installation quality.
Federal solar tax credit in 2026
This calculator does not automatically subtract the former 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit from 2026 estimates.

Why your Texas city matters
